Six-Day Tour in Sichuan--Tibet

Day 01 From Beijing to Chengdu                              stay: Chengdu???????/strong>
Take direct flight from Beijing to Chengdu, all the groups are picked up by local English tour guide with warm welcome from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, and sent to the hotel. It’s free time then. You could walk around Chengdu, such as Tianfu Square, Chunxi Road, and Renmin Park, which are highly recommended by???Lonely Planet ???You could taste local spicy hotpot food in Chunxi Road. 

Day 02 Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center            Stay: Chengdu???????/strong>
Have breakfast in the hotel in the early morning, around 7:30am, you leave from the hotel to the Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center to see the pandas. It takes 40 min. to get there, and about two and half hours to stay in the center. You could hold Baby panda to take photos with the donation fee. Around 11:30am, you leave Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center for Wenshu Monastery to have lunch, the vegetarian food is also highly recommended there. It’s a free afternoon. In the evening, around 6:15pm, you are picked up to taste local snack food as your dinner and relax in the teahouse. Around 7:30pm, you will go to watch Sichuan Culture Show. After that, you will be sent back to the hotel.

Day 03 From Chengdu to Lhasa                                    Stay: Lhasa???????/strong>
You normally depart from Chengdu to Lhasa in the early morning, arriving at Lhasa Gonggar airport which is at an elevation of 3000 meters; local tour guide will meet you at the airport, and drive to Lhasa urban area. On the way, you could enjoy the heart-beating highland, and view along the Yarlong Tsangpo River (the longest river in Tibet). It’s a free time to get relaxed and fit high altitude.

Day 04 Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street               Stay: Lhasa???????/strong>
Have breakfast in the hotel, your first day of sightseeing starts from Lhasa\¡¯s cardinal landmark- Potala Palace, a structure of massive portions. Its towering image already appearing on various occasions, but your first sight of the Potala will still be an awe-inspiring moment. It takes at least 2-hour to visit those rooms, halls and chapels. In the afternoon, we will drop a visit of the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibet. Everyday, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek a long distance to the temple. The temple is the product of Han, Tibetan and Nepalese architectural techniques. Then we will visit Barkhor, the oldest street in a very traditional city in Tibet

Day 05 Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery???Tibet Museum          Stay: Lhasa???????/strong>
Have breakfast in the hotel. About 8km to west of central Lhasa is the Drepung, once world\¡¯s largest monastery with about 10,000 monks. Today’s sightseeing begins with these white monastic buildings piled up on the hillside. Walking up to the hill is a pleasant thing, an easy break from the solemn ambience inside the halls and chapels. At the plat roof of hillside, you can have very good views of the whole Lhasa city and the distant mountains. Drepung is one of Lhasa\¡¯s two greatest Gelugpa monasteries, the other is Sera. Around 5km to north of central Lhasa, Sera may not be as grandiose as Drepung, but is more serene surrounded by many small temples. The \¡¯Buddhism Scriptures Debating\¡¯ in Sera is very famous. You could feel the history of Tibet culture in Tibet Museum later.

Day 06 From Lhasa back to Chengdu                                 Tour end
You normally take morning flight back to Chengdu. Bus driver and tour guide will transfer you to the airport. Our six days tour is ended in Chengdu. Local Travel Agency could still help you book the plane ticket back home or your next destination, etc.
